Vanessa Cushing

Vanessa Cushing, LPC, NCC, CST, is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and the founder of Cushing Counseling, a specialized sex and couples therapy practice serving clients across Virginia, Maryland, and Florida. She is also the Founder and CEO of Sex Therapy Pro, a sexual wellness technology company focused on expanding access to evidence-based sexual health education and support. Vanessa earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women, Gender & Sexuality from the University of Virginia, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She later completed advanced training in sex therapy through the University of Michigan. Her clinical work specializes in sex therapy, couples therapy, intimacy concerns, sexual dysfunction, desire discrepancies, and relationship challenges. Her approach integrates evidence-based interventions with a sex-positive, trauma-informed, and inclusive framework. Beyond her clinical practice, Vanessa is a speaker, educator, and advocate for improving access to high-quality sexual health care. She has presented on the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence, mental health, and sexuality and has served as a keynote speaker at NCSEXCON. Through her clinical, educational, and entrepreneurial work, Vanessa is committed to advancing the field of sexual health and helping individuals and couples build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
